The log building was built by Ewald Schmock  in 1949 and The Hitching Post restaurant first came to be in 1956, when Marilyn Marr and Bill Koepp, Jr., or “Marney” and “Buggs,” purchased the lot that the log building stands on, turning it into an owner-operated restaurant and bar. After several more owners, transformations and name changes, the Hitching Post is back! The locals and vacationers couldn't be happier.
