It has been quite a journey for Veronica Ripp, the Cordon Bleu trained chef of Get Real Cafe.
Veronica Ripp has always been all fired-up to create delicious real food on Sturgeon Bay’s West Side. The move to her second West Waterfront location at 43 South Madison Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, is allowing her to realize her culinary dreams. At the former GRC location, Veronica created magic using a panini press and hotplate. Now, she has a full chef’s kitchen and the magic keeps on happening! Staffed by Veronica’s wife, Judy a cadre of loyal servers who have worked at GRC since its inception, the restaurant keeps expanding its menu and even offers classes during the shoulder seasons.
Veronica offers a menu with many locally grown and organic menu choices. Some of my favorites are the Chocolate Fix smoothie, the Free-Bird sandwich with organic chicken and avocado, the GRC Tuna Melt, and any of her daily soup and lunch specials. She also has a house dressing and don’t miss the homemade ranch, too.
Get Real offers specialty coffees, an event space downstairs and if you don’t have time to stay for breakfast or lunch, you can grab & go from the deli cooler.
For the gluten-sensitive diners, and for your sweet tooth craving, GF bread options as well as freshly baked GF cookies, brownies and banana chocolate chip muffins adorn the front counter. Veronica has also created her own recipe gluten-free sour dough bread.
